The demographic profile of India can be divided into two parts Urban and Rural areas. India presides over the world's largest democracy, embracing not only countless cultures, languages, religions but also a large number of communities based on lifestyles as well as specialties in mountain areas. In India, there are 75 tribes as primitive tribal groups in 15 states and union territories. These communities are situated in mountain and hill areas of Manipur, Assam, Tripura, Nagaland, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu, and finally in the entire region of Maharashtra.
While thinking about Maharashtra tribal communities are situated on large scale in Thane, Pune, Nasik, Raigad, Amaravati, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurga, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Gondia, Dhule, Nandurbar, Ahmednagar, Nagpur. These communities are known as Katkari, Warli, Gond, Madia, kolam and are totally near about 48 Species. In our work area of (Junnar, Ambegon, khed, maval, Mulashi, Velhe Bhor Tehsil, in Pune District of Maharashtra). The main goal of our project is to develop the Katkari species, mainly from the tribal community in the Pune district.
